Collection: Grays AC Sticks

Grays AC Hockey Sticks — The Premium Construction Range

The Grays AC range is the top tier of the Grays lineup — a collection built around aerospace-grade foam cores, enhanced carbon layup, Grays GripZone technology and solvent-free construction. Where the DB and JB ranges are defined by their bow profiles, the AC range is defined by its construction quality. Every stick in the AC range is built to a higher specification than the equivalent model in the standard range, with materials and engineering that reflect what elite players need from a stick.

The AC range spans three bow profiles — Dynabow-S, Jumbow-S and Probow-S — each the premium version of Grays' core shapes. The Dynabow-S (24.75mm @ 250mm) is the all-round profile; the Jumbow-S (24.75mm @ 200mm) is the power profile; and the Probow-S (24.75mm @ 200mm with Apex head) is the elite attacking profile. All feature the Vertex or Apex head shape, enlarged Low Backhand Zone and aerospace-grade foam core as standard.

The range runs from the AC400 for developing to intermediate players through to the AC Zero — developed with GB international Tess Howard — at the elite end. Read on for a full breakdown of each model and advice on choosing the right one.

AC Range Technologies

Every stick in the AC range features a consistent set of premium technologies: the Aerospace-grade foam core provides exceptional stability, balance and consistency. The Enlarged Low Backhand Zone (LBZ) gives a larger, more defined surface area for cleaner and more powerful reverse-stick strikes. Grays GripZone (AC700 and above) adds texture just below the handle for improved feel during rapid skills and sharp movements. Solvent-free construction (AC700 and above) reduces environmental impact without compromising performance. The Vertex head shape improves ball carrying and striking power; the Apex head shape (AC900) promotes efficient reverse trapping and swift manoeuvrability.

Who Is the Grays AC Range For?

The AC range is for players who want the best construction Grays produces. If you play at intermediate to elite level and want a stick that performs at the highest standard in every area — control, power, feel and durability — the AC range is the natural choice. The Dynabow-S models suit all-round players; the Jumbow-S and Probow-S suit players who prioritise power and attacking play.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the AC range different from the standard DB and JB ranges?
The AC range uses aerospace-grade foam cores, enhanced carbon layup, Grays GripZone and solvent-free construction — a higher specification than the standard DB and JB ranges. The bow profiles are also premium versions: Dynabow-S, Jumbow-S and Probow-S rather than the standard Dynabow and Jumbow.
What is the difference between Dynabow-S, Jumbow-S and Probow-S?
All three use a 24.75mm bow at 200–250mm placement. The Dynabow-S (250mm) is the all-round profile. The Jumbow-S (200mm) is the power profile for hitting and aerials. The Probow-S (200mm, Apex head) is the elite attacking profile for drag flicking, aerials and 3D skills.
What is the AC Zero?
The AC Zero is the flagship AC stick, developed with GB international Tess Howard. It uses the Dynabow-S profile with the most advanced construction in the Grays range — solvent-free core, aerospace-grade internal foam and Grays GripZone — for elite all-round performance.
What size do I need?
Most adult players use a 36.5" stick. Check our hockey stick size guide for a full breakdown by age and height.
